Who I am, why I created Inclusive Ally Solutions, and the experience behind the support I offer.
I undertake diagnostic assessments in accordance with current SASC standards, guidance and approved assessment practices.
About me
With over 20 years of experience supporting disabled learners across education and specialist support services, my interest in supporting neurodivergent adults grew from the many years I spent working alongside adult learners in Higher Education.
Throughout my career, I have met many capable and hardworking adults who have spent years finding ways to cope with difficulties related to reading, writing, spelling, organisation, planning, and processing information. Many have achieved great things in education and employment yet often describe feeling as though they have had to work much harder than others to get there.
What has always stayed with me is how often these struggles remain hidden. Friends, family, colleagues, and employers see someone who is capable, resilient, and successful. What they don’t always see is the extra effort behind every piece of work, the constant checking and rechecking, the longer hours, the mental exhaustion, or the quiet self-doubt that can accompany even the greatest achievements.
Working alongside adults over many years has taught me that understanding often begins with being truly listened to. Given the time and space to reflect, people frequently begin to recognise patterns in their own experiences that they had never noticed before. Those moments of understanding can open new ways of thinking about themselves and the choices available to them.
Inclusive Ally Solutions grew from my desire to bring together the knowledge, skills, and experience I have gained throughout my career to create a space where adults can explore these experiences without fear of judgement or pressure to pursue a diagnosis.
My aim is to help people better understand themselves, recognise the strengths they have developed along the way, and make informed decisions about what feels right for them moving forward.
There is no pressure to pursue a diagnosis or label. The starting point is simply understanding yourself better and deciding where you would like to go from there.
